CLASS PREREQUISITE: NONE – ENTRY LEVEL COURSE
If you’d like to know how shoot, load and use your shotgun better than 99% of gun-owning Americans, then this is the course for you.
Legendary firearms instructor Bill Jordan called the shotgun “the world’s greatest equalizer.”
I couldn’t agree more, which is why millions of Americans choose it as their #1 home defense firearm.
After all, a single shell of 00 buckshot is close to the equivalent of shooting NINE rounds out of a 9mm handgun!
Plus, in many states that are unfriendly to gun rights, the shotgun may be the only available “long gun” for a Patriot to defend themselves and their family!
Here’s just a few of the things you’ll learn over two action-packed days:
- The secret of choosing the right shotgun for home protection. (Including the best brand, model and gauge… And which guns are good for both men and women.)
- The most important accessories for your home defense shotgun. (I’m going to bring in my personal gun and show all three of these to you.)
- The crucial steps to take if you hear an intruder at 3am and where your shotgun should be located to be prepared for this situation.
- The #1 shotgun ammunition for home defense. (We’ll cover birdshot, buckshot and slugs.)
- The types of ammunition you want to avoid like the plague. (There are six different shells you never want to buy.)
- The best way to carry your gun when you think someone is in your house. (And the one thing you never, ever want to do.)
- How to properly clean and care for your shotgun so it lasts for generations.
- How to quickly load the shotgun when your life is on the line. (I’ll demonstrate the difference between administrative and combat reloads using inert dummy shells.)
- How to safely store the shotgun from children (You’ll see an inexpensive safety device I personally use.)
- The fundamentals of shotgun marksmanship so you’ll know the proper stance and grip if you ever have to use the gun to defend yourself.
- How to avoid the “kick” of the shotgun. This secret will help you avoid a bruise on your shoulder and any discomfort when firing the gun.
- Why you must be aware of shotgun “patterning” so you know what distances you can safely fire from. (I’ll bring in actual targets I shot at the range to explain this critical topic.)
- How to transition from the shotgun to the handgun during a lethal encounter. (This tactical skill is easy to learn and I’ll give you a chance to try this during class if you’d like.)
- The single most important shotgun drill to practice and how to easily do this on your own. (This is an essential drill I practice and I’ll even give you a copy of the special target I use.)
- The tactics of dealing with multiple intruders in your home. (And exactly what to do with your shotgun if you ever find yourself in this situation.)
- The smartest way to stop a home intruder using your shotgun. (This has nothing to do with the noise the gun makes when racking a round.)
- And much more…
As you can see, after this course you’ll have peace of mind and confidence when it comes to operating the shotgun for home defense purposes.
Required Equipment:
- Shotgun of 20 gauge or larger
