CLASS PREREQUISITE: NONE – ENTRY LEVEL COURSE

If you would like to be better trained and prepared than 99% of gun owners, you now have that opportunity by attending the Patriot Training Center’s 2-Day Red Dot Patriot Pistol courseThis one-of-a-kind defensive pistol course will not only give you the confidence to defend your family from a home invasion or other criminal encounter…

But will also teach you how to shoot with extreme accuracy. In fact, here are just a few of the items covered during this course:

Some of the things you’ll learn in the classroom include:

  • SAFE firearms handling
  • How to develop the proper mindset to survive
  • The demystification of violence
  • Dealing with the Moral and Ethical Decisions in the Use of Deadly Force
  • Legal Considerations if you plan to carry concealed
  • How to Dry Practice to Improve Your Skills at Home Between Courses
  • Living the armed lifestyle
  • and more.

With Red Dot equipped pistols, most people are WORSE (slower and less accurate) when they first try shooting them. That’s because they’re not a “plug and play” sighting system that will fix your shooting fundamentals. This course will show you what you need to know.

Everything You Need To Know About Pistol-Mounted Optics For Personal Defense:

>> What you MUST understand about the “Optics Ready Fallacy” (this is the number one mistake that most gun buyers make when buying new, optic-ready pistols)

>> What “co-witness” with your iron sights is and how to do it correctly

>> 1 simple step to take AFTER you screw your optic to your slide, that virtually guarantees you won’t have a mounting failure

>> Why you absolutely MUST zero your red dot optic… and… How to properly zero it, so it’s as precise and accurate as mechanically possible… plus, the exact yard distance to zero it so you can hit your target quickly and accurately from 3yds all the way to 100yds!

>> What you MUST know about “holdover” when using a pistol-mounted optic (most iron-sight trained shooters completely screw this up!)

>> Why you want to avoid shortcuts, parlor tricks and “hacks” to find the dot when you present your pistol… and… the ONLY method that works 100% of the time

Plus, you’ll see the proper maintenance schedule to guarantee your red-dot pistol works reliably and will never fail when you need it most, including…

… When to replace your batteries (and the brand we recommend most)… How to regularly check your zero (and the environmental conditions that can cause it to shift)… How to recognize–instantly–when your mounting screws have backed out (notice I said “when” not “if” because this will happen if you shoot your gun enough, but there’s a simple fix to catch it before it ever becomes a problem)… and the #1 most common pistol-mounted optic malfunction–and how to stop it before it starts.

Finally, you’ll discover how people with astigmatism can still use a red dot optic effectively.

This is a very common issue most people are completely unaware of until they try a pistol-mounted optic. Jeff, my Director of Training and the Head Instructor teaching this course has astigmatism and will share exactly how he overcomes it!

And that’s just the first few hours of the first day!

Now that you’ve got the foundation… it’s time to hit the range where you’ll skills like:

  • The handgun grip that the world’s fastest and most accurate shooters use and how to adjust it to fit your hand and your handgun.
  • The secret of quick draws from the holster when you’re carrying concealed—no matter what position your hands are in.
  • Where to put your finger on the trigger and how to master a smooth trigger pull
  • How to safely draw your gun from the holster and get combat effective center mass hits in seconds
  • How to shoot one handed – and still be highly accurate
  • Accuracy secrets from 3 yards all the way out to 25 yards
  • How to get rapid multiple hits on target
  • The secret of mastering recoil so you can quickly get your gun back on target
  • The best ways to reload your gun, quickly, even under the stress of someone trying to kill you
  • How to deal with the most common handgun malfunctions to get your gun back in the fight as quickly as possible
  • Fun and exciting shooting drills
  • And so much more!

Required Equipment:

  • GUN: A semi-automatic red dot equipped handgun (Compact and full-size only. Sub-compact “pocket” guns are harder to shoot well, break easier and must be reloaded more often. You will build skills quicker and with less hassle training with a bigger gun and those skills will translate to a smaller gun)
  • AMMO: 400 rounds of ammunition for your firearm (if you bring more ammo, you will get the opportunity to shoot more, actual round count could be as high as approximately 600)
  • HOLSTER: At least one strong-side or appendix, belt mounted holster that covers the trigger guard when the gun is in the holster, stays open when the gun is out of the holster, and attaches securely to the belt. Either inside the waistband (IWB/AIWB) or outside, worn in a stable manner on a rigid belt, with separate pouches (at least one, two is better) for the magazines or speed-loaders. Please, no cheap, flimsy nylon holsters. Leather or Kydex are fine. SERPA finger release holsters are NOT allowed. I have seen too many problems with them. For police officers, a full duty belt worn openly is fine. For others, the rig should be concealed.
  • MAGS:At least 2 (preferably 3) magazines for a semi-auto
  • MAG POUCHES: A magazine pouch or pouches that holds at least two magazines
  • A baseball cap
  • Electronic Hearing protection
  • Eye Protection
  • CLOTHING: The training will be conducted in street clothes, with a concealed carry cover garment (jacket, vest, windbreaker, outer shirt, etc). Please dress as you do in your daily routine. Training in Military BDU’s with a thigh rig is fine, IF that is what you wear daily. No “battle belts” or competition shooting gear. Wear closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty and possibly muddy on range (boots or hiking style shoes are great). Bring whatever rain gear you need to function if it rains.

This is a  reality-based handgun course where you’ll be shooting from several different positions.

The cost of this course is $1,500.

There are no refunds for your course purchase, however you can attend at any date in the future and your course purchase never expires.
