Required Equipment:
- GUN: A semi-automatic handgun (Compact and full-size only. Sub-compact “pocket” guns are harder to shoot well, break easier and must be reloaded more often. You will build skills quicker and with less hassle training with a bigger gun and those skills will translate to a smaller gun) It also needs to be optic ready or direct milled to the slide.
- Reliable Red dot optic (brands like Trijicon, Holosun, Leupold, and Aimpoint work best) Have it mounted to your slide before class.
- Back up optic height sights (in case your primary sight goes down)
- AMMO: 650 rounds of ammunition for your firearm (if you bring more ammo, you will get the opportunity to shoot more, actual round count could be as high as approximately 700)
- HOLSTER: At least one strong-side or appendix, belt mounted holster that covers the trigger guard when the gun is in the holster, stays open when the gun is out of the holster, and attaches securely to the belt. Either inside the waistband (IWB/AIWB) or outside, worn in a stable manner on a rigid belt, with separate pouches (at least one, two is better) for the magazines or speed-loaders. Make sure the holster will fit your gun with a red dot mounted to it. Please, no cheap, flimsy nylon holsters. Leather or Kydex are fine. SERPA finger release holsters are NOT allowed. I have seen too many problems with them. For police officers, a full duty belt worn openly is fine. For others, the rig should be concealed.
- MAGS:At least 3 magazines for a semi-auto
- MAG POUCHES: A magazine pouch or pouches that holds at least two magazines
- A baseball cap
- Electronic Hearing protection
- Eye Protection
- CLOTHING: The training will be conducted in street clothes, with a concealed carry cover garment (jacket, vest, windbreaker, outer shirt, etc). Please dress as you do in your daily routine. Training in Military BDU’s with a thigh rig is fine, IF that is what you wear daily. No “battle belts” or competition shooting gear. Wear closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty and possibly muddy on range (boots or hiking style shoes are great). Bring whatever rain gear you need to function if it rains.
This is a reality-based handgun course where you’ll be shooting from several different positions.
The cost of this course is $1,500.
There are no refunds for your course purchase, however you can attend at any date in the future and your course purchase never expires.
