Overview
Level II Patriot Pistol is an intermediate-to-advanced defensive handgun course developed for students who already possess a solid foundation in firearm safety, manipulation, and marksmanship. This course is designed to push students toward unconscious competence by integrating high-level technical skill with the soft skills required to survive and prevail in real-world encounters. It is not a competition course. It is a fighting course—measured by precision, speed, and decision-making under stress.
The curriculum builds on core fundamentals, demanding increased accountability, refined presentation from concealment, and mastery of sight and trigger control under time constraints. Emphasis is placed on visual cadence, shot calling, and achieving accountable fire at speed. Students are challenged to balance efficiency and accuracy with real-time threat assessment, reinforcing both technical and cognitive performance under pressure.

- Combative shooting par times based on realistic engagement distances (3 to 25 yards)

- Focus on dominant-hand-only shooting for injury-contingency training
- Integration of soft skills such as emotional control, legal justification, and articulation of use of force
- Daily carry considerations: presentation, holster selection, comfort, and concealment
Who It's For
This course is ideal for armed citizens, law enforcement, or instructors who have completed basic pistol training and are ready to challenge themselves with a higher standard of performance. Students should already be capable of safely drawing from concealment and consistently hitting an 8-inch target at 7 yards under a 2-second time standard. This is not a fundamentals course—it is a course designed to refine, pressure test, and advance.
