Step #2 : Here Is The "Class Prep" Information You Need To Attend Your First Class (If you still have questions after reviewing the information below - please call us at 1-855-927-4668!)

Patriot Training Center Location & Travel Details

The Patriot Training Center is located on over 33 acres just outside of Talladega Alabama. That makes it a 1-day or less drive from most parts of South Eastern United States and convenient for air travel too!

Range Address:

The range is located at this address, typing it into GPS will get you there:

1581 Richeytown Rd
Eastaboga AL 36260<
1-855-927-4668

PLEASE NOTE: Our campus is closed to the public. Only registered students are allowed at our property on the day of classes only. There is no visitation permitted for any other reason. Do not stop by, this is a safety issue and we take it very seriously.

Lodging/Hotels:

Oxford, AL is about 12 miles east of the range and is the best area for lodging, restaurants and any other needs in very close proximity to the range. Oxford is about 15-20 minute drive (door-door) to the range. There are a variety of hotels and restaurants right off the interstate. Anniston, AL is another nearby town.

About 20 miles west of the range is the town of Pell City, AL which also has multiple hotels and restaurants and is a recommended option.

Travel/Airports:

Birmingham Airport (BHM) – is the closest airport at just a short 45-minute drive east to the range. Or, you can fly into the Atlanta Airport (ATL), and it’s approximately a 2-hour drive west to the range.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO HELP YOU PREPARE FOR CLASS (PLEASE WATCH VIDEO & READ):

Watch the class prep video above and read the information  below for more details on how to prepare for your class and get the mostout of the training!

Gun(s):

A safe and reliable service caliber handgun, 9mm/.38 Spl or larger – this class is built around compact and full size semi-automatic pistols. Sub-compact “pocket” guns are harder to shoot well, break easier and must be reloaded more often. A second handgun of the same model and caliber is a very good idea. If something breaks on your primary gun, you can finish the class with the same holster, mags and ammunition. (Suggested, definitely not mandatory.)

Magazines/speed-loaders:

Bring at least three magazines (auto) or speed-loaders (revolver). The more magazines you bring the better. You need not wear more than two spare magazines on your person, but more magazines in the range bag is always good.

Quality belt and holster:

At least one strong-side or appendix, belt mounted holster that covers the trigger guard when the gun is in the holster, stays open when the gun is out of the holster, and attaches securely to the belt. Either inside the waistband (IWB/AIWB) or outside, worn in a stable manner on a rigid belt, with separate pouches (at least one, two is better) for the magazines or speed-loaders.

Please, no cheap, flimsy nylon holsters. Leather or Kydex are fine. NO SERPA finger release holsters are allowed (unless issued by your agency/profession). I have seen too many problems with them. For police officers, a full duty belt worn openly is fine. For others, the rig should be concealed.

Clothing:

The entire class will be conducted from concealed carry. “Concealed” means if you are in a crowded shopping mall, no one would detect that you are armed. Outside waistband holsters (OWB) are fine, as long as they are concealable. The training will be conducted in street clothes, with a concealed carry cover garment (jacket, vest, windbreaker, outer shirt, etc). Please dress as you do in your daily routine. Training in Military BDU’s with a thigh rig is fine, IF that is what you wear daily. No “battle belts” or competition shooting gear. You should consider wearing light clothing as we will be outside and doing physical activity, so you will probably sweat. That said, long sleeve pants and shirts are recommended both for sun protection, but also because you will be doing different shooting positions outside on possibly rough terrain. You can bring appropriate extra layers in the case of expected cold/wet weather.

Safety Gear:

Eye and ear protection are mandatory. If you don’t wear prescription glasses, you must wear safety glasses. Electronic hearing protection is REQUIRED (if you don’t already have electronic ear protection, please buy it, and if that’s not possible before class, you can rent ours for $10 per day). You will need a ball cap (hat) and comfortable closed-toe shoes.

Ammo:

-400 rounds of factory ammunition
*Bring more if you have it and want to. 400 rounds is the maximum number of rounds you will need, however, each class is different and we may or may not shoot all 400 rounds.

Please don’t bring junk gun show reloads. You will spend more time fiddling with your gun than learning how to fight with it. Good ammo will keep your gun running and make for a much better learning experience.

*** In addition, please bring a minimum of 10 rounds of your preferred carry/duty ammo if you already have it. If you don’t currently have duty/carry ammo, no problem.

Food:

Bring lunch, snacks, water/drinks (lots of drinks) and personal hygiene products- we will be at the range all day and take a short lunch break (approximately 30 minutes) – there will not be time to leave the range to get food!

This class is not the best time to break in a new gun, or use untested or unreliable guns, ammunition, or other equipment! Those issues will be a huge distraction from your training and I am unlikely to be able to help you solve those issues.

TRAINING TIME:

Day 1 – 8am to approximately 5pm
Day 2 – 8am to approximately 5pm

Class will start promptly at 8 am. Please be in the classroom area NO LATER than 7:45 am, for paperwork, etc. Safety briefing starts at 8:45, you must be present for that. If you are late and miss the safety briefing you will not be allowed to participate in the class. After the morning’s classroom session, we will make a short drive to the range and the class will continue there for the rest of the day.

We conduct a hot range. Report to the classroom with your gun worn in the holster if you conceal carry normally. If you are not conceal carrying your gun that day, it can stay in your range bag. DO NOT handle your weapon in the parking area or the classroom.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact my assistant Josh at 1-855-927-4668 or [email protected] .
